Meeting called to order at 9:10 by Simeon Stearns.
Minutes approved by acknowledgement.

Financial report
The balance of the Jennings County LEPC fund was reported as $12,565.52.

Pandemic Preparedness Coordinating Committee
No report.

Jennings County EMA
Michelle reported that 32 of the 800 MHz radios are in and the rest will be arriving after the first of the year. Each agency participating in the program has picked up their radios and has received training. The Jennings County Sheriffs Dept. have not picked up their radios or received the training. The EMA has filed for state flood damage assistance. Considerable damage has occurred in the Hayden area. The EMA is accepting clothes, food etc. for fire victims. If you have any items please contact Michelle.

Jennings County Citizen Corps
2006 Grant- Applications not available yet. The other 90 weather radios have been received. Michelle will distribute the radios.

Jennings County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
3 volunteers will be attending CERT training at Atterbury in September on the 19th, 20th and 21st. Jay Pendorf of DHS reported to Michelle that the state has lost Jennings County’s 2004 CERT grant application. This is the second time the CERT application has been lost by the state.

Old Business
LEPC SARA Title III Plan updates were reviewed. Additional items needed include:
  • Updated equipment lists from EMS, Fire and Police.
  • Flow chart for notification procedures (James Webster is working on it).
  • Facility Emergency Response Plans from any reporting industry.
  • Media contacts and school facility point of contacts (John Howard)
  • Shelter in place procedures (Simeon Stearns)-emailed to Don
NIMSCAST- Michelle reported the county was 99% compliant.

Volunteer Nursing Lists- Karen Shaw reported that ISDH will sell an active list of nurses for $160.00. Michelle made motion to use LEPC funds for list, Matt seconded - all approved. First, Simeon and Michelle will make contacts to see if they can get the list for free.

New Business

The Hazardous Mitigation Plan Committee have been meeting to assist the Southeastern regional planning team in a vulnerability analysis of Jennings County. The Regional planning team has received grant funding to complete this study. The study should be complete in 9 months.

Steve Elmore would like to add a medical surge component to the exercise to meet exercise requirements for the hospital. Mike Magner made a motion to accept, Jerry seconded-all approved.

Simeon is currently putting together a progressive exercise plan for the county- it will be a series of drills-quarterly, culminating with a functional or full scale exercise late next summer.

Matt Alexander reported that the deal for the new 800 MHz tower has been finalized and the receiver will go up by the old OCI building in town and could possibly be completed by the end of the year.

Next meeting scheduled October 10th at 9 am FPBH Building. Meeting adjourned at 10:17 AM.
